Show 87 - Confused Jew Show

Continuing down the Belgian path, but we get off course and wind up in Jerusaleum by way of New York. Ponder on that while you listen to this show that covers the special nuances of great beers from New Belgium, Chimay, Achouffe, Unibroue and Schmaltz. We also talk about a new cultural phenomenon I completely missed - the game of cornhole. What? Rick shares some Beer Haiku from our friend Captain Hops at beerhaikudaily.com, and some great tunes from Jimmy Thackery, Lonnie Brooks and our old friend Joe Galea with his new CD. Le'chayim!

Beers featured on this show:

Chimay Rouge
Unibroue Maudite
New Belgium 1554
Brewerie Achouffe La Chouffe
Schmaltz Jewbalation 5766

I admit, haven't heard the show, but I wanted to say this: Jeremy Cowen is one of the cooler brewer/owner type folks I know - even if I've only met him once. I CAN'T wait to hear this show. You all rock, thank you.

As always, it's great to hear you guys featuring Belgians - even those you've had before. It never gets old talking about them. Maudite is yesterday, today and tomorrow, Groucho. Get with it!

I never appreciated Britney Spears as a performer, lip-syncer, whatever it is she is. When her over-produced bubble gum pop music topped the charts, I was waiting for the music trends to change so that crap was no longer polluting my ears, and she'd fade away. So imagine my disgust now that she's finally exposed for the talentless white trash tramp that she is, and she's still front page news. I wish she'd just go away. Go spend your millions quietly and leave us all alone.

I've had a few of the Hebrew beers and really enjoy them. I've not had the Jewbalation, but will definitely look for it after hearing this. I love any Anniversary beer from breweries - it's always the culmination of the best they have to offer.

Achouffe always kicks ass. It's far and away becoming my favorite Belgian brewer. When I want to treat myself (especially around the holidays) I go to the gnome. Their Nice is my favorite at Christmas.
